Abstract
In the present study it’s analyzed numerically, with support of Ansys Fluent software, water flow in a three-dimensional geometry, which in a simplified way, represented a Sliding Sleeve valve. Polyhedral and tetrahedral mesh was used to compare results, and polyhedral mesh presented better results than tetrahedral mesh. The numerical results were validated with results obtained experimentally, using the Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) technique. The results show that the numerical modeling performed adequately represents the problem.
