Abstract
Due to its high cost, water heating systems by solar collectors did not have their popularization in mass in Brazil, once it is economically unviable to the population of low income. However, low cost solar heaters have been developed for the last few years aimed at such a consumer market, which have also sought solutions that have a significant impact on the reduction of electricity consumption. The proposal of this work is to promote the construction of a low cost solar heater, using PVC plates and to show the economic feasibility of the implantation, the thermal comfort provided and the benefits to the environment generated by the system and thus to spread ASBC technology in the city of Formiga and region. The project was divided into 3 parts: budget and purchase of materials that make up the system, construction of heaters and extension courses and interviews with participants to evaluate the results generated by the action. Course participants will be provided with a manual with all necessary procedures so they can manufacture, assemble and install the system in their homes and publicize this project so that others can take advantage of the environmental and economic benefits generated by the ASBC
