Abstract
Boundary fluid flow over a concave surface can be unstable to disturbance generating streamwise-oriented counter-rotating vortices. These vortices are known as Gortler vortices. Due to its importance in the engineering industry, there are several studies carried out on this subject. Some recent studies focus on the development of unsteady disturbances. In the present work, the evolution of unsteady disturbances is studied through the Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS). The unsteady disturbances are inserting through suction and blowing strip. Preliminary results indicate that the spanwise wavelength has a great influence on the evolution of Görtler vortices. And also that the growth rate reduces with the increase of disturbance frequency.
