Abstract
In this article, a mathematical model and numerical simulation of the turbulent heat transfer process in a double tube heat exchanger has been carried out. Experimental test were performed to evaluate the heat transferred and the pressure drop of the device in parallel flow and counter flow. The model accept empirical correlations proposed by different authors. The finite volume method with the standard k-e turbulence model is used to solve the equations of continuity, momentum, energy and turbulence in three-dimensional domain. They were measured and compared with the corresponding data of the correlations and numerical study. The data was met with an error of 6% and an error.
