Abstract
In the present work, the heating and vaporization of a ferrofluid fuel droplet under the influence of magnetic relaxation heating process is studied. The heat is generated inside the ferrofluid droplet due to the viscous friction between the nanoparticles rotating under influence of the magnetic field and the fluid medium. Thus, the heat generated by magnetic source together with the heat from the gaseous environment accelerate heating and vaporization process. In the present analysis, the condition of low magnetic power is considered. This condition means that the magnetic power is the same order that thermal power supplied by the gaseous environment. Low magnetic power condition represents more realistic engineering applications. The results show that the magnetic relaxation heating process provides a significant reduction of the heating time and increase of the vaporization rate, even in cases of low magnetic power.
