Abstract
This work aims to evaluate the relevance of the geometry and the type of fluid to obtain the term of interaction between the fluid and the porous medium for the equations of Mixture Theory. This study takes into account the tortuosity of the medium, not only the viscometric forces, like other formulations in the literature. To achieve this objective, simulations on OpenFOAM open source platform were made and considerations about the source term was made from the calculated forces. The term of interaction between the fluid and the porous medium rise significantly in extensional geometries.
