Abstract
This study intends to solve numerically the problem of heat transfer by natural convection over a flat horizontal surface. The simulations was made by a range of Rayleigh values varying from 10^4<=R_a<=10^9. The software used to run the simulations was the openFoam, which is a open source CFD modeling software. Then the results obtained in simulations are compared with experimental expressions from previous works.
