Abstract
Aerospace hypersonic vehicles equipped with an airbreathing supersonic propulsion system faces extremely severe environments during hypersonic flight in terms of thermal and aerodynamic loads. In this way, it is necessary to work with materials that meet a thermal and aerodynamic load without compromising the structure of the vehicle and use a thermal management system to reduce the temperature of the vehicle’s structure. Through the 14-X S Technological Demonstrator it is possible to highlight methodologies to design a complete thermal protection system, maximizing the efficiency of the vehicle.
