Abstract
This work presents a one-dimensional model for frequency-dependent friction for turbulent flows in deformable pipes. This model is derived by employing a virtual structured mixture model for the fluid, which is formed by n constituents obeying the same equations of state. Constitutive Constants of the fluid that form a crucial part of the friction is easily calculated in a thermo-mechanical consistent basis. A comparison with experimental data showed good agreement and uphold this model to real-time applications of any type of fluid transients in enclosed pipes.
