Summary :
ABSTRACT. IN THIS PAPER AN ACTIVE CONTROL APPROACH TO REDUCE THE TRANSIENT VIBRATION TRANSMISSION THROUGH A ALUMINUM RECTANGULAR PLATE IN A DUCT IS PRESENTED. A FEEDBACK LOOP WITH ANALOGICAL ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS IS USED TO SUPPLY THE NECESSARY ELECTRIC SIGNAL TO THE CANCELLATION OF THE PLATE VIBRATION. THE REFERENCE SIGNAL UTILISED BY THE CONTROLLER TO SUPPLY THE PIEZOELECTRIC SHEET( ACTUATOR), WHICH IS BONDED TO THE PLATE, IS GENERATED BY OTHER PIEZOELECTRIC SHEET (SENSOR) BONDED TO THE SAME PLATE. AS THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CONTROL SYSTEM IS RELATED WITH THE SPEED OF THE ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, A COMPARISON OF THE RESULTS OBTAINED WITH THE USE OF POWER AMPLIFIERS WITH DIFFERENT SPEEDS IS PERFORMED.
