 Title:
MODELLING AND SIMULATION OF AN ADSORPTION REFRIGERATOR TO PRODUCE ICE, USING ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES

Summary :
ABSTRACT. THIS WORK INTENDS TO MODEL AND SIMULATE DINAMICALLY AN ADSORPTION/DESSORPTION SYSTEM FOR ICE PRODUCTION, USING THERMAL ENERGY FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES, AND AMMONIA/ACTIVED CHARCOAL LIKE ADSORBENT PAIR. WITH A COMPLETE FACTORIAL EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN, WE COULD ASSESS IN OUR INTERESTED ANSWERS, THE INFLUENCE OF CHANGING DIFFERENTS VARIABLES FROM A LOWER LEVEL TO A HIGHER LEVEL. WITH THE RESULT FROM ALL TESTS, WE COULD FIND BEST CONDITIONS TO PRODUCE MORE ICE PER DAY. A MODIFICATION WAS PROPOSED ON THE USUAL REFRIGERATION CICLE. THIS MODIFICATION LEAD THE SYSTEM TO PRODUCE 300 G DAY-1 KG-1 ADSORBENT OF ICE. KEYWORDS: ADSORPTION, REFRIGERATION, MODELLING, ALTERNATIVES ENERGIES, EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN.
