OBTENTION OF AXIAL FLOW ISOVELOCITY MAPS, FOR ECCENTRIC ANNULI SYSTEMS, VIA THE GEOMETRICAL INVERSION METHOD
 
Summary :
ISOVELOCITY MAPS FOR TURBULENT FLOW ARE OBTAINED FOR SEVERAL ECCENTRIC ANNULI SYSTEMS. THESE MAPS ARE COMPUTED VIA THE GEOMETRICAL INVERSION METHOD AS PRESENTED BY ÖZGEN & TOSUN (1987). THE INPUT EXPERIMENTAL DATA ARE TAKEN FROM JONSSON & SPARROW (1966). THE RELEVANT PARAMETERS ARE: THE RADIUS RATIO,AND THE ECCENTRICITY RATIO.THE THREE DISTINCT CASES WE STUDY ARE IN THE PARAMETER RANGE 0,281 - 0,75 AND 0,6 - 1,RESPECTIVELY. OUR RESULTING MAPS ARE COMPARED WITH JONSSON & SPARROW S EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS. WE CAN QUALITATIVELY ESTIMATE THE RADIUS RATIO AND ECCENTRICITY RATIO RANGE WITHIN WHICH WE MAY APPROPIATELY APPLY THE GEOMETRICAL INVERSION METHOD IN ORDER TO PROBE THE ISOVELOCITY PROFILE FOR ECCENTRIC ANNULI SYSTEMS.
