 Title:
AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF AN AUTOMOTIVE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH CAPACITY CONTROL

Summary :
THIS PAPER REPORTS RESULTS FROM A STUDY PERFORMED IN AN EXPERIMENTAL SET UP MADE UP OF ACTUAL COMPONENTS OF AN AUTOMOTIVE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH CAPACITY CONTROL. COMPONENTS SUCH AS VARIABLE CAPACITY COMPRESSOR, PARALLEL FLUX ALUMINUM MICRO CHANNELS CONDENSER, AND ALUMINUM TUBE AND FIN COOLING COIL, AMONG OTHERS, HAVE BEEN INSTALLED IN THE EXPERIMENTAL CIRCUIT. TESTS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE UNDER SEVERAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. THESE TESTS HAVE PROVIDED USEFUL INFORMATION REGARDING THE EFFECT OF SOME IMPORTANT PHYSICAL PARAMETERS SUCH AS THE TEMPERATURE OF THE AIR AT THE CONDENSER AND COOLING COIL, COMPRESSOR ROTATIONAL SPEED AND THE CHARGE OF REFRIGERANT IN THE CIRCUIT. KEYWORDS: AIR CONDITIONING, AUTOMOBILES, VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT COMPRESSOR
