 Title:
DETERMINAÇÃO DE PADRÕES DE EMISSÃO ATMOSFÉRICA PARA FONTES ESTACIONÁRIAS PONTUAIS

Summary :
DETERMINATION OF ATMOSPHERIC EMISSION STANDARDS FOR STATIONARY POINT SOURCES ABSTRACT. THE PRESENT METHOD WAS DEVELOPED ON THE BASIS OF ENVIRONMENTAL SENSIBILITY OF EACH SPECIFIC AREA IN THE REGION TO BE ANALYSED. TO DO SO A REFERENCE-STANDARD IS DEFINED IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE USE AND OCCUPATION OF THE SOIL, LIKE RESIDENTIAL AREA, INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, RECREATIONAL AREA, CONSERVATION UNITS, AMONG OTHERS. USING A MATHEMATICAL DISPERSION MODEL FOR THE MOST SIGNIFICANT POLLUTANTS EMITTED, AND CONSIDERING THE MOST REPRESENTATIVE METEOROLOGICAL SCENERY, A CORRELATION WAS DEVELOPED RELATING THE AIR QUALITY OF EACH AREA IN THE REGION UNDER ANALYSIS TO THE LOAD EMITTED BY EACH STATIONARY POINT SOURCE (CHIMNEY). THE AREA WHERE THE VALUE OF THE REFERENCE-STANDARD OF ANY POLLUTANT ANALYSED IS BELOW THE CONCENTRATION VALUE CALCULATED BY THE MODEL IS LABELED "CRITICAL ZONE". THE METHOD DETERMINES FOR EACH CHIMNEY AN OPERATIONAL EQUATION CALLED "CHARACTERISTIC CURVE" THAT CORRELATES THE VOLUMETRIC FLOW RATE OF THE GASES EMITTED TO THE POLLUTANT CONCENTRATION IN THE GASES. BY CONTROLLING THE CHIMNEY EMISSIONS THROUGH THE "CHARACTERISTIC CURVE" ITS CONTRIBUTION TO THE "CRITICAL ZONES" VANISHES. EACH CHIMNEY HAS ITS OWN "CHARACTERISTIC CURVE" FOR EACH POLLUTANT, WHICH IS THE LOCUS OF A WEIGHTED EQUATION THAT PENALIZES FAIRLY EACH CHIMNEY THAT CONTRIBUTES FOR THE EXISTENCE OF THE "CRITICAL ZONES". KEY WORDS: EMISSION STANDARDS, ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION, EMISSION SOURCES.
