DEVELOPMENT OF A SYSTEM OF EMULSION GENERATION

SUMMARY: THE MAIN PROBLEM CONCERNING THE TEST OF SEPARATION SYSTEMS APPLIED TO OILY WATERS, IS THE GENERATION OF AN EMULSION THAT REPRESENTS THE TEST CONDITIONS, INCLUDING THE ONE EXISTENT IN REAL CONDITIONS. THIS PAPER DESCRIBES A SYSTEM OF EMULSION GENERATION DEVELOPED TO INTEGRATE THE TEST RIG FOR EQUIPMENT DESTINED TO THE OIL SEPARATION IN OILY WATERS. IT IS PRESENTED THE EMULSION GENERATOR DEVICE, WHICH CONSISTS, BASICALLY, OF THE INJECTION WITH HIGH PRESSURE OF THE PETROLEUM IN A GROUP OF INJECTOR NIPPLES CONNECTED TO A SPOOL WITH FLOWING WATER. BOTH THE CIRCUIT OF PETROLEUM AND THE ONE WITH WATER CONTAIN A SERIES OF VALVES AND DEVIATIONS THAT ALLOW THE GENERATION OF EMULSION WITH CONCENTRATION OF OIL THAT VARIES FROM 100 TO 1500PPM AND PARTICLES (DROPS) FROM 10 TO 100M WHICH ALLOWS THE SIMULATION OF SEVERAL EMULSION TYPES COMMONLY FOUND IN THE REJECTION OF THE OIL INDUSTRY. IT IS ALSO SHOWN SOME TYPICAL RESULTS OBTAINED IN THE DEVELOPED EMULSION GENERATOR OR TEST RIG THAT ARE IN OPERATION. KEY WORDS: GENERATION OF EMULSION, OILY WATER TREATMENT, EMULSIONS
