IMPORTÂNCIA DO ÂNGULO DE HÉLICE NO DESEMPENHO DOS ALARGADORES MULTICORTANTES
 
Summary :
IMPORTANCE OF THE HELIX ANGLE ON THE PERFORMANCE OF MULTI-BLADES REAMERS ABSTRACT. THIS WORK PRESENTS A STUDY OF THE DIMENSIONAL STABILITY (DIAMETER, CYLINDRICITY AND ROUNDNESS) AND SURFACE FINISHING OF CYLINDRICAL HOLES PRODUCED BY REAMING PROCESS WITH K10 CEMENTED CARBIDE WELDED BLADE REAMERS POSSESSING SEVERAL HELIX ANGLES (-10º; -7º; 0º; 7º; AND 10º) IN ALUMINIUM-SILICON ALLOY. TWO DIFFERENTS FEED RATES WERE USED. THE POWER CONSUMPTION WERE MONITORED DURING TESTS WITH A HALL SENSOR BASED EQUIPMENT. IN GENERAL THE MINOR ERROR OF CYLINDRICITY AND ROUNDNESS, BESIDES BETTER DIAMETER PRECISION, WAS OBTAINED WHEN USING REAMERS WITH 0º OF HELIX ANGLE. ON THE OTHER HAND, BETTER RESULTS WITH RELATIONSHIP TO THE SURFACE FINISHING WERE OBTAINED WITH THE HELICAL REAMERS.
