NOWADAYS, ONLY A FEW ENGINEERING COURSES ARE MANAGING TO UNDERGRADUATED PROFESSIONALS ABLE TO FACE PRACTICAL PROBLEMS THAT RISE FROM DAY-BY-DAY WORK. MOST OF THESE SCHOOLS USES A TRADITIONAL METHOD OF TEACHING (DEVELOPED IN THE HISTORICAL PERIOD CALLED MODERN), FOCUSING ON THEORY AND MEMORIZATION OF INFORMATION, DISCONNECTED TO THE STUDENTS’ REALITY AND TO THE TECHNOLOGICAL PROBLEMS THAT REALLY HAPPEN IN THE INDUSTRY. DISSATISFACTION WITH THIS KIND OF METHOD IS NOT NEW, AND COMPLAINTS BY ENGINEER-TEACHERS HAD ALREADY BEEN RISEN LAST CENTURY. THESE TEACHERS SAID THAT FUTURE ENGINEERS SHOULD - THROUGHOUT THE COURSE - EXPERIENCE SITUATIONS CLOSER TO THOSE, WHICH THEY WOULD FACE IN THEIR CAREER.
