MULTIMEDIA SOFTWARE FOR EVALUATION OF THE STUDENTS OF ENGINEERING

THIS PAPER PRESENTS SUGGESTIONS AND EVALUATION TECHNIQUES THAT TEACHERS CAN USE TO EVALUATE THEIR STUDENTS KNOWLEDGE. THE SYSTEM DOESN T WORK BY ITSELF, IT IS NECESSARY THE TEACHER S CREATIVITY TO USE IT AS AN AUXILIARY INSTRUMENT OF TEACHING-LEARNING AND EVALUATION. THE TEACHER WILL DEFINE WHICH PERCENTAGE OF SUCCESSES IS GOOD OR BAD FOR THE STUDENT. IF IT IS CONSIDERED BAD, THE SYSTEM OFFERS THE COURSE AGAIN FOR THE STUDENT WITH A DIFFERENT FOCUS FROM THE PREVIOUS. THE SYSTEM ALSO VERIFIES IF THE STUDENT OBTAINED A SMALLER NUMBER OF SUCCESSES IN DISCURSIVE OR OBJECTIVE SUBJECTS; MAKING THUS POSSIBLE TO GIVE MORE EMPHASIS IN THE CONTENT TYPE WITH LARGER DIFFICULTY. THE INTERACTIVITY OBTAINED THROUGH THE MULTIMEDIA MAKES THE SOFTWARE ALERT THE STUDENTS ATTENTION, OBTAINING BETTER RESULTS IN THE LEARNING. FOR THE ENGINEERING TEACHING THIS SYSTEM INTENDS TO COLLABORATE WITH A CHANGE OF METHOD IN THE STUDENTS EVALUATION. THEREFORE, WHAT TOOK TO DEVELOP THIS WORK WAS THE INTEREST THAT THE TEACHERS HAVE IN EVALUATING THE STUDENT S KNOWLEDGE CARRYING ABOUT THEIR LEARNING AND NOT MERELY IN TRANSMITTING CONTENTS. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT THE TASK OF MEASURING KNOWLEDGE. BESIDES, THERE IS LITTLE AVAILABLE TIME TO CORRECT TESTS WHEN THE TEACHER HAS SEVERAL STUDENTS.
