PRE-DESIGN OF AN ALTERNATIVE ELECTRICAL ENERGY MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMICS (MHD) GENERATOR SYSTEM
 
Summary :
ABSTRACT. A SMALL-SIZED GENERATOR OF ELECTRIC ENERGY BY MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMICS (20 MWT) POWERED BY CELLULIGNIN FUEL GENERATED BY ACID HYDROLYSIS OF THE BIOMASS GENERATED BY SUGAR CANE WASTE IS PROPOSED IN THIS PAPER. THE BRAZILIAN PROGRAM OF ALCOHOL PRODUCES A HUGE AMOUNT OF WASTE, AND AFTER THIS WASTE GOES THROUGH ACID HYDROLYSIS IT GIVES OFF CELLULIGNIN. THIS PRODUCT - AFTER GOING THROUGH CARBONIZATION - TURNS INTO GOOD FUEL, BASICALLY NEARLY PURE CARBON. IT IS PROPOSED HERE THE COMBUSTION OF CELLULIGNIN AND PURE OXYGEN PLUS THE ADDITION OF ARGON AT THE PROPORTION OF 0,6 TO 1,2 FROM THE MASS OF CO2, IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE PLASMA FLOW AT THE MHD CHANNEL. THE IONIZATION OF PLASMA IS MADE WITH K2CO3 SEED AT THE PROPORTION OF 1% OF GAS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PAPER IS TO ASSESS THE MHD LINEAR GENERATOR CHANNEL, AS WELL AS TO DETERMINE THE ELECTRIC POWER GENERATED AT THE CHANNEL, ELECTRODES CURRENT DENSITY, CHANNEL LENGTH AND OTHER CHANNEL PARAMETERS FROM THE CELLULIGNIN COMBUSTION PROPERTIES ON.
