 Title:
SIMULATION OF A DETONATION DETECTOR, BASED ON THE INTENSITY OF THE SIGN, FOR CONTROL OF SPARK-IGNITION ENGINES

Summary :
ABSTRACT: THIS WORK PRESENTS RESULTS FROM THE DEVELOPMENTOF AN ALTERNATIVE SYSTEM FOR DETECTING DETONATION ON SPARK-IGNITED ENGINES. THIS NEW DETECTOR USES COMPONENTS FROM THE CONVENTIONAL SYSTEM AND IS BASED ON THE INTENSITY-OF SIGN PRINCIPLE, RATHER THAN ON THE INTEGRAL PRINCIPLE. BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRIC SIGN, THE SIMPLEST WAY TO DETECT THE DETONATION IS BY A TRIGGER, WHICH IS ACTIVATED ONLY WHEN THE AQUISITION WINDOWS IS OPEN. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THIS DETONATION DETECTON SYSTEM CAN BE USED REPLACING THE PRESENT ONES. THE SYSTEM STILL NEEDS MORE RESEARCH, BOTH FOR OTHER OPERATING CONDITIONS OF THE ENGINE AND FOR OTHER ENGINES, TO AVOID THE SINGULARITIES OF EACH ONE. THIS SYSTEM IS PARTICULARLY VERSATILE, FOR IT CAN BE APPLIED TO ANY ENGINE, BY ONLY CHANGING THE LIMIT OF TENSION ON THE SIGNAL NOISE. KEY WORDS: DETONATION DETECTOR, SPARK-ENGINE, CONTROL.
