    FATIGUE, FRACTURE & DAMAGE ANALYSIS

    The Design & Analysis Committee of the Pressure Vessels and Piping Division of ASME is soliciting papers for publication and presentation on all aspects of Fatigue, Fracture Mechanics, Integrity assessment and life management, & Damage Analysis in the technical sessions at the PVP 2008 Conference.

    The general topics include methods, case studies, and other circumstances or events of interest, which may be encountered in the design and analysis phases of pressure vessels, piping systems and other components. General discussions, applied analytical techniques, and case studies related to Fatigue, Fracture Mechanics, Integrity assessment and life management, & Damage Analysis are encouraged to be submitted for consideration.

    Authors should submit abstracts (approximately 200 words) including paper title, full name(s) of author(s), affiliation, mailing address and telephone and fax numbers by November 16, 2007 to either of the following Sessions Developers listed below, using the conference web site http://www.asmeconferences.org/pvp08 (see additional information below).

    Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance by December 1, 2007. Draft papers are due by February 29, 2008. Final papers in ASME format for publication and the 1903 Copyright Transfer Form must be received by April 25, 2008. All accepted papers will be published in the conference volumes.

    Guidance for Submitting Abstracts via the Conference Web Tool

    Authors interested in contributing to the sessions on ‘Fatigue, Fracture Mechanics and Damage’ should submit an abstract via the conference web site http://www.asmeconferences.org/pvp08

    • Create an account as ‘Author’ and you will receive by Email your personal account and password.
    • Next, log in at the web site as an author and select from the menu ‘Submit abstract’. You should then select the Track ‘Design and Analysis’ and the Symposium Topic ‘DA-4 Fatigue, Fracture Mechanics and Damage’. The paper type is ‘PVP Technical Publication’.
    • Please submit the title of your paper and copy your abstract into the box provided. Select your Geographic area and finally press the ‘I agree’ button.
    • You will receive an electronic confirmation from the web tool that your abstract has been successfully submitted. The session developers will review your submission and send you the formal acceptance of your abstract.
