DINAME 2027 – XXI International Symposium on Dynamic Problems of Mechanics

Dear colleague,
We would like to warmly renew our invitation to the global scientific community to participate in the next edition of the International Symposium on Dynamic Problems of Mechanics (DINAME), organized biannually by the Committee of Dynamics of ABCM (the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering).
DINAME 2027 will take place in the vibrant city of Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, from February 14th to 19th, 2027, marking the first time the symposium will be held in the North Region of Brazil. This special edition offers a unique opportunity for scientific exchange in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, combining an inspiring natural setting with a high-level academic environment.
The symposium will be hosted at the Uiara Amazon Resort, on the banks of the Rio Negro, providing excellent infrastructure for technical discussions, networking, and collaborative activities among researchers, professionals, and industry representatives.
Since 1986, DINAME has been an important forum for scientists and engineers to discuss recent advances and state-of-the-art techniques in dynamical problems of mechanics, bringing together participants from Brazil and many other countries.
We are pleased to remind you that abstract submission is currently open, and submissions will be accepted until June 30th, 2026.

O edital para seleção de propostas de fomento à realização de Semanas Acadêmicas em 2026 segue aberto!Objetivo
Apoiar iniciativas estudantis que promovam:
Difusão de conhecimentos técnico-científicos;
Integração acadêmica;
Desenvolvimento de competências organizacionais e de liderança;
Aproximação com a comunidade e o setor produtivo
Apoio Financeiro
Serão contempladas até 3 propostas, cada uma com R$ 5.000,00 para custeio das despesas do evento
Quem pode participar?
Grupos formados por estudantes de graduação em Engenharia Mecânica ou áreas afins;
Com indicação de docente orientador(a);
Com anuência institucional;
Membros da comissão organizadora devem ser adimplentes com a ABCM no ato da inscrição.
Prazo de inscrição
As inscrições devem ser realizadas até 29 de maio de 2026, exclusivamente pelo formulário eletrônico.

ICOVP 2027 – Call for Mini-Symposia | Deadline: May 31, 2026 | Brasília, Brazil

We are pleased to announce the 17th International Conference on Vibration Problems (ICOVP 2027), to be held on May 10–13, 2027, in Brasília, Brazil, hosted by the University of Brasília (UnB) at the FINATEC Conference Center.
This will be the first edition of ICOVP ever held in Latin America.

We warmly invite you to propose and organize a Mini-Symposium within ICOVP 2027.
Mini-symposia are a central feature of ICOVP, providing a focused forum for in-depth discussion on specific topics within the broad field of vibration problems, wave mechanics, and dynamic systems. Organizing a mini-symposium is an excellent opportunity to gather your research community, foster collaboration, and give visibility to emerging or specialized topics in your field.
Mini-symposium organizers are responsible for promoting their session, inviting contributors, and coordinating the review process for submitted abstracts.
The deadline for mini-symposium proposals is May 31, 2026.

PDRA in Experimental Fluid Mechanics — NIDF, Rio de JaneiroSource: Prof. Robert Jäckel (UERJ)
We expect to open a one-year postdoctoral position in Experimental Fluid Mechanics in Rio de Janeiro, with an anticipated start between September and December 2026. The position is part of an international collaboration between the University of Sheffield and partners in Rio de Janeiro, including UFF, UFRJ, and UERJ.
The project focuses on pipe entrance flow, transition to turbulence, and fouling, combining advanced simulations with experiments in the large-scale pipe-flow facilities at the NIDF. The aim is to generate high-quality experimental data and predictive correlations relevant to fouling, pumping power, and energy losses in water, sanitation, and oil-and-gas pipeline systems.
We are looking for a motivated researcher with, or close to completing, a PhD in fluid mechanics, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field, and with experience in experimental fluid mechanics. Experience with PIV, stereo-PIV, PTV, LDA, experimental design, troubleshooting, and data processing is particularly welcome.
The selected candidate will be based in Rio de Janeiro and receive a highly competitive salary.

Processo Seletivo para bolsa de professor visitante sênior no país no Programa PRAPG de Pós-graduação em Engenharia Mecânica (POSMEC) da UFABC / PRAPG – Programa de Redução de Assimetrias na Pós-Graduação da CAPES.
Prazo de inscrição 10/04/2026 a 30/06/2026Requisitos:
- Possuir o título de doutor em áreas afins ao PPG-MEC ou comprovação equivalente, obtido em cursos avaliados pela CAPES e reconhecidos pelo CNE/MEC. Em caso de diploma obtido em instituição estrangeira, este deverá ser analisado pela comissão de avaliação.
- O candidato à bolsa de professor visitante sênior deve possuir o seguinte perfil: Comprometimento com a Área de Avaliação / Área de Conhecimento; Experiência com projetos de consolidação de PPG e de grupos de pesquisa; Carreira acadêmica com comprovada produção cientifica;
- O beneficiário da bolsa de professor visitante sênior no país deverá ser doutor há pelo menos dez anos, licenciados (exceto por invalidez) para participar do programa, com reconhecida competência em sua área de atuação, podendo estar aposentado.
A bolsa de professor visitante sênior no país do PRAPG terá duração de 12 (doze) meses, prorrogáveis por mais 12 (doze) meses uma única vez. O valor mensal da bolsa é de R$ 8.905,42, a ser implementada e paga diretamente pela CAPES ao bolsista, após a aprovação dos candidatos indicados pela Comissão responsável pela seleção no PPG-MEC e pela CAPES, considerando que a bolsa de professor visitante sênior no país será implementada segundo as regras mencionadas no Edital nº 14/2023.
