    Dando continuidade à série ABCM Webinars, o Comitê Técnico de Engenharia Aeroespacial da ABCM apresentará, no dia 15 de dezembro, às 20h,o seminário: Extending the Flight Time for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, apresentada pelo palestrante Tadej Semenic.

     

    Abstract:

    There is a need for small turbine engines with high thermal efficiency and low specific fuel consumption for powering Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). This seminar will review propulsion needs for UAVs and describe a promising approach that could extend the flight time for 50% over the baseline propulsion approach.

                                                                                                                       

    Bio sketch for the speaker:

    Tadej Semenic, Ph.D. is a technology developer in USA. He received a doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2007. He has 15+ years of industrial experience working at various companies ranging from a start-up to a large established company. His work has been mostly in the areas of energy transfer and storage and improving energy conversion efficiency. He started his career as a thermal engineer, progressed to a research scientist, senior research scientist, technical team lead, and to an engineering manager (current position).

    INDUSCON 2023 – Call for Papers

    Submissions for papers for INDUSCON 2023 is now open.

     

    All approved and presented papers will be sent for publication in IEEE Xplore, including papers in Portuguese or Spanish languages and short papers.
     

    The IEEE/IAS International Conference on Industry Applications (INDUSCON) is an international conference held every two years in Brazil, brought by the South Brazil section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – IEEE and the local Chapter of IEEE Industry Applications Society.

     

    The INDUSCON 2023  will be organized by Universidade Federal do ABC and will take place at the university campus in São Bernardo do Campo in hybrid format (virtual and in-person), from September 04-06th, 2023. The main theme of this edition is the “Industry 4.0 challenges in the ESG context”.


    In the last few years two major trends have reached the world of industry and corporate business: ESG and Industry 4.0. ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance while Industry 4.0 comprises the set of technologies of the early XXI century that are transforming the way products and services are produced. This transformation is so radical that it has been considered as the 4th industrial revolution. On the other hand, the conventional investment paradigm is being phased out in favor of investments in companies that prioritize ESG responsibility. The rationale behind it is that, in the long-term, "Who Cares Wins". However, a shift to a new production paradigm that is sustainable, promotes social responsibility in the corporate environment, preserving equity and business ethics, is not a trivial task. INDUSCON 2023 believes that technologies that come in the wake of Industry 4.0 can help companies to achieve ESG goals. So we invite engineers, academic community and industry people to submit  papers showing how emerging technologies of Industry 4.0 can contribute to ESG goals.


    We will have plenary keynotes from leading industrial and academic scientists, who will give forward looking visions as well as historical perspectives on our field. A broad array of scientific tracks and mini-symposiums will cover diverse topics of cutting-edge research and innovation in the diverse topics related to ESG goals and its relation to technology development.
