Abstract
The main objective of this work is the development of a seat for a minibaja vehicle, prioritizing the improvement of the driver's ergonomics and safety. The project aims to meet the specific requirements imposed by the competitive and challenging environment in which these vehicles operate. The minibaja is an off-road vehicle that takes part in rigorous competitions, where driver comfort and safety are crucial for overall performance. To achieve these goals, modifications were made to the seat’s geometry in order to adapt it to the driver’s physical characteristics, along with a careful selection of the most suitable materials for its manufacturing. The project considered the limitations imposed by the reduced space and the need for a seat that provides adequate support under extreme usage conditions, such as uneven terrain and intense vibrations (OSHERO, 2023).
