Abstract
This work presents the development of a truss fuselage for aircraft, manufactured using carbon fiber embedded in epoxy resin and shaped with grooved molds produced by 3D printing. Aimed at replacing conventional wooden fuselages, the proposed structure offers a 30% weight reduction while enhancing strength and rigidity. The methodology involved the construction of fuselage sides and cross-members using carbon fiber threads impregnated with resin and applied to the molds. Tensile tests were conducted to evaluate the material’s performance in terms of stiffness and ultimate strength. The results indicate that the proposed technique is feasible and provides a favorable balance between lightness and mechanical resistance.
