Abstract
Although Brazil holds a prominent position in the production of fruits, vegetables, and legumes (FLV), it faces high levels of losses and waste, especially in the post-harvest stage. Strawberries, due to their highly perishable nature, require specific care in harvesting, transportation, storage, and especially packaging. This article analyzes the main bottlenecks in the packaging process of fresh strawberries in a company located in Bahia, highlighting issues such as the use of inadequate locations and poor management of packaging supply inventories. Through interviews with producers and direct observation, logistical failures were identified that compromise product quality and reduce its shelf life. As a solution, the implementation of the kanban system is proposed, based on simple equations for calculating minimum stock levels, along with the construction of regional storage facilities equipped with visual control panels. The adoption of these practices can significantly contribute to the reduction of losses, improvement in logistical organization, and increased profitability for producers.
