Abstract
This project refers to the development of a robotic arm coupled to a drone, called robot-drone, to be used in the removal of foreign objects from high voltage cables or ground cables (not energized). The debris present in high voltage cables or ground cables comes from the remains of kites, sneakers, different types of plastic, balloons, and various debris in cases of windstorms. These put the integrity of the distribution system at risk and may cause power outages. Thus, this project presents the development of a robotic arm with a variable end-effector, that will be coupled to a drone and will allow the removal of foreign objects. The drone will be used to position the robotic module using a radio control. Afterward, removal will be carried out depending on the type of debris. Two end-effectors were built: one for burning and the other for magnetic capture, but only the one for burning performed well in the experiments. This drone-robot aims to reduce risks for technicians who carry out these operations by climbing the towers and moving around on cables or even suspended from a platform fixed to a helicopter.
