Abstract
For soft robots to have universal adoption in practical applications, they require flexible actuators that provide performance close to natural muscles, while being inexpensive and easily manufactured. Using the HASEL actuators as a model, the effectiveness of using a combination of polypropylene sheet coated with a layer of aluminum foil as a substitute for the combination of bioriented polypropylene film between two layers of polyimide, as proposed by MITCHELL et al. (2019). It was observed that the use of the 3D printer as a BOPP heat sealer, despite being functional, is too complex for use within a rapid prototyping logic.
