Abstract
. The refrigeration of fluids within the industry is applied to the most varied production processes, including polymer injection, extrusion, among other processes that demand temperature reduction for greater stabilization and capability of their operations. In the polymer injection process, the use of water at lower temperatures is widely applied in order to maintain consistency and quality in the components produced, so refrigeration equipment is responsible for delivering this characteristic input to the injection process. This study aims to collect information from a new chiller applied to the refrigeration process, aiming to analyze the thermal conditions of the system and its electrical energy consumption, according to the work powers collected during a pre-determined period. The results obtained identify the thermal capacities of the system, their respective variations, as well as their projected electrical energy consumption for one year of operation, a condition that allows evaluating the period of return on investment applied to the equipment.
