Abstract
The multiple point incremental micro forming technique appeared in order to reduce the time of manufacture of micro components, in relation to the technique of single point incremental forming. This work presents the study of the effect of the scaling factor on the behavior of the material when performing the process of multiple point incremental micro forming, via finite element analysis in ABAQUS TM software. The tests consisted of analyzing a pure aluminum plate with 500 µm thickness and grains with medium size of 9 µm. For these conditions the effect of the scale factor was irrelevant in the deformation process, which indicates that for medium size grains of the order of 2 % of the thickness, the material can still be considered polycrystalline and therefore not sensitive to the number of grain boundaries in mechanical strength.
