Abstract
The objective of this work is to verify the heat treatment influence in the Cobalt-Chromium-Molybdenum (CoCrMo) alloy consolidated by Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technique. The analysis of the mechanical properties and microstructure of standardized samples made by SLM will be subjected to a controlled thermal treatment (TTC) and compared with the condition as manufactured (CF). The mechanical properties will be evaluated by tensile tests, 3-point bending and hardness, and compared to the traditional technique precision casting (FP). The microstructure of the samples will be evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and correlated with the mechanical behavior obtained before and after TTC. The mechanical results evidenced an increase in the ductility of the samples after TTC, with a decrease of the strength and rupture tensile, as well as in the hardness. In general, the mechanical properties were higher for the samples consolidated by SLM after TTC, allowing a promising character for application in the CoCrMo alloy.
