About Diname

The DINAME - International Symposium on Dynamic Problems of Mechanics is held every two years and is organized by the Committee of Dynamics of ABCM, the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering. Since 1986 the Symposium has been a vivid forum for scientists, academicians and practical engineers, to share, discuss and present the recent developments and state-of-the-art techniques related to dynamical problems of mechanics. Traditionally, DINAME has attracted active participation of scientists, practitioners, and graduate students, from Brazil and various other countries as well.

The meetings are traditionally held in hotels located in quiet and pleasant sites, away from overcrowded areas, in a regime of immersion which enables cross-fertilization of ideas, strong scientific exchanging and socialization amongst participants. In order to maximize the exchange of knowledge about scientific achievements and trends on topics related to dynamics, vibration and control of mechanical systems, the single-session format is adopted for the oral presentation of the papers. To preserve its inherent characteristics, the Symposium is restricted to no more than about one hundred presenting papers. Therefore, the conference provides an excellent opportunity to researchers from different fields of science and engineering, both experts and new comers, for sharing ideas, experience and progress, and exploring new directions and problems among specialists in these fascinating areas of science and technology.

Dynamics, vibration and control are among the most active scientific frontiers of sciences and engineering in recent years. Mathematical theory, numerical simulation, physical experiments, engineering design, interdisciplinary subjects, and their various applications are included in the main program of the symposium.
