WE PRESENT THE METHODS AND RESULTS OF THE UPSCALING PROCESS APPLIED TO THE BURACICA FIELD, SERGI FORMATION, ZONES 2-6,  OIL RESERVOIR. RESERVOIR STUDIES USE TWO KINDS OF GRIDS: A FINE ONE TO DESCRIBE THE GEOLOGIC HETEROGENEITIES, USUALLY BUILT WITH THE AID OF GEO-ESTATISTICAL METHODS; AND A COARSER ONE FOR FLUID FLOW SIMULATION. UPSCALING ROCK PROPERTIES FROM THE FINE TO THE COARSE GRID IS A CRITICAL TASK: THERE IS A RISK OF LOOSING IMPORTANT AND HIGH-COST INFORMATION IN THE PROCESS. 
THIS WORK SHOWS A METHODOLOGY OF UPSCALING OF PETROPHYSICAL PROPERTIES (POROSITY, ABSOLUTE PERMEABILITY AND RELATIVE PERMEABILITY FROM LOGGING AND CORE DATA TO THE FLOW SIMULATION GRIDBLOCKS. WE USED THE PROGRAM UPA, DEVELOPED BY PETROBRAS, THAT COMBINES  SEVERAL  UPSCALING COMPUTING METHODS AND FACILITIES.
