0ABSTRACT. THE MATHEMATICAL AS WELL AS THE PHYSICAL MODELING HAVE BEEN USED TO STUDY THE MOLTEN STEEL FLUID FLOW IN CONTINUOUS CASTING TUNDISH. IN THIS WORK THE RESULTS OBTAINED WITH THESE MODELS FOR DELTA-T TUNDISH OF GERDAU AÇOS FINOS PIRATINI ARE PRESENTED. THE FLUID FLOW PROFILE IN A PHYSICAL MODEL WAS ANALYZED THROUGH LASER SHEET VISUALIZATION TO VALIDATE THE NUMERICAL MODEL AND ALSO STUDIED THE DAMS AND WEIRS EFFECTS THROUGH RESIDENCE TIME AND VELOCITY VECTORS. WITH THIS STUDY A FLOW MODIFIER THAT IMPROVES THE INCLUSION FLOTATION IN ANALYZED TUNDISH WAS CONFIGURED.
