ABSTRACT: THE SUSPENSION SPRINGS AND CASING OF A HERMETIC RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR WERE MODELED BY THE FINITE ELEMENTS METHOD. EXPERIMENTAL TESTING HAS BEEN MADE IN ORDER TO VALIDATE THE NUMERIC MODELS, RESULTS OBTAINED SHOWED GOOD AGREEMENT. MEASUREMENTS ON OPERATING COMPRESSOR AND RESULTS OBTAINED BY FINITE ELEMENT MODEL OF THE SPATIAL SQUARED VELOCITY OF THE CASING WERE COMPARED AND DISCUSSED. THE PRINCIPAL FEATURES OF THE POWER FLOW FROM THE MOTOR PUMP ASSEMBLY TO THE CASING THROUGH MOUNTING SPRINGS WERE OBTAINED NUMERICALLY.
