ABSTRACT . IN THIS PAPER, THE TRANSIENT LAMINAR FORCED CONVECTION IN SIMULTANEOUSLY DEVELOPING FLOW IS ANALYTICALLY STUDIED WITH THE SINUSOIDAL VARIATION OF THE INLET TEMPERATURE PROFILE FOR CIRCULAR DUCTS. THE GENERALIZED INTEGRAL TRANSFORM TECHNIQUE IS USED TO PROVIDE A HYBRID ANALYTICAL-NUMERICAL SOLUTION FOR THE RELATED ENERGY EQUATION SUBJECTED TO A GENERAL BOUNDARY CONDITION OF THE FIFTH KIND, ACCOUNTING FOR THE EFFECTS OF BOTH EXTERNAL CONVECTION AND WALL HEAT CAPACITANCE. THE PERIODIC ANALYSIS IS PERFORMED BY USING TWO COUPLED SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THE NUMERICAL RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH OTHER WORKS THROUGH GRAPHICS AND TABLES FOR VELOCITY AND TEMPERATURE PROFILES AND NUSSELT NUMBER FOR TWO DIFFERENT PRANDTL NUMBERS.
