ABSTRACT. THIS PAPER PRESENTS A ROBOTIC SYSTEM PROTOTYPE DESIGNED TO MANIPULATE OBJECTS BY A ROBOTIC MANIPULATOR USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TECHNIQUES. IT PRESENTS A ROBOT PROTOTYPE AND AN INTELLIGENT SYSTEM THAT USES FUZZY LOGIC AND BASED-KNOWLEDGE TO ACHIEVE THE ROBOT CONTROL. NEXT, IT PRESENTS CHESS  PIECE MANIPULATION PROBLEM USING THE ROBOTIC SYSTEM. THE OBTAINED EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ARE PRESENTED.
