ABSTRACT. THE PRESENT WORK AIMS TO DISCUSS SOME METHODOLOGICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL ASSUMPTIONS WHICH INFLUENCE THE PEDAGOGICAL PROCESSES AND THE DIDACTICS ADOPTED IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION, BASED ON THE AUTHOR S EXPERIENCE AS ENGINEER AND TEACHER. THOSE ASPECTS ARE RELEVANT TO THE ENGINEERS FUTURE SOCIAL ROLE AND TO THE TECHNOLOGICAL AND SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENT OF OUR COUNTRY.
