DRILLING OF MICROHOLES BY CONVENTIONAL SINKING EDM
ABSTRACT: THE AIM OF THIS WORK IS TO QUALIFY AND TO QUANTIFY THE QUANTITIES THAT INTERFERE IN THE DRILLING MICROHOLES (DIAMETER LESS THAN 0,100MM) THROUGH EDM PROCESS BY METALLIC FOILS PENETRATION. TO EXECUTE THE MICROHOLES IN CONVENTIONAL MACHINES, TWO ARRANGEMENTS, AN MECHANICAL AND ANOTHER OPTICAL. ONE CONCLUDES THAT THE PROCESS IS TECHNICALLY AND ECONOMICALLY VIABLE, SPECIALLY IF COMPARED TO THE MECHANICAL DRILLING WITH DRILL PROCESS AS IT PRESENTS ADVANTAGES RELATED TO THE COST BY TOOL, NUMBER OF HOLES BY TOOL, DRILLING LENGTH AND DIMENSION HOLE PRECISION.
