EFFICACY EVALUATION OF VIBRATION ISOLATION SYSTEMS USING TWO METHODS: THE TRANSMISSIBILITY AND THE POWER TRANSMITTED
Resumo :
ISOLATION SYSTEMS ARE USED IN A LARGE VARIETY OF APPLICATIONS TO REDUCE THE TRANSMISSION OF MECHANICAL VIBRATIONS CAUSED BY OR TRANSMITTED TO EQUIPMENT. IN ORDER TO MEASURE THE EFFICACY OF ANY ISOLATION SYSTEM THERE ARE ESSENTIALLY TWO METHODS, ONE BASED IN THE TRANSMISSIBILITY AND ANOTHER IN THE TRANSMITTED POWER. WE COMPARE THE TWO METHODS IN A SIMPLE SYSTEM COMPOSED OF A FLEXIBLE BASE (BEAM SUPPORTED IN SIX POINTS, FOUR OF WHICH FIXED AND THE OTHER TWO TO BE CHOSEN SO AS TO MINIMIZE THE VIBRATION OF THE BAR), A FLEXIBLE ISOLATOR AND A RIGID SOURCE. THE EXCITATION CAN BE EITHER A FORCE OR A MOMENT. WE SHOW THE AMBIGUITY THAT ARISES DUE TO THE USE OF THE CLASSICAL TRANSMISSIBILITY AND ITS LIMITATIONS, WHEREAS FOR THE POWER THERE IS NO AMBIGUITY AND THE CONCEPT IS EASIER TO APPLY. |
