THE WORK PRESENTS THE DEVELOPMENT OF A METHOD FOR THE SOLUTION OF THE 3-D,
COMPRESSIBLE EULER EQUATIONS OVER CONFIGURATIONS WITH REGIONS OF STEEP PROPERTY GRADIENTS OR GEOMETRICALLY COMPLEX CONFIGURATIONS. THE SOLUTION PROCEDURE IS BASED ON OVERSET MULTIBLOCK TECHNIQUES, IE., CHIMERA TECHNIQUE. THE TECHNIQUE IMPLEMENTED IS APPLIED TO THE STUDY OF STEADY FLOW PROBLEMS. THE COMPUTATIONAL CODE USES TRILINEAR INTERPOLATION IN ORDER TO PASS INFORMATION ACROSS THE VARIOUS OVERLAPPING MESHES. THE NUMERICAL RESULTS DEMONSTRATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CHIMERA TECHNIQUE FOR THE PRESENT CLASS OF PROBLEMS.
