ASSESSMENT OF SCALE-DOWN METHODS APPLIED TO CYCLONE SEPARATORS
Resumo :
ABSTRACT IN THIS PAPER, THE COMPLETE SET OF DIMENSIONLESS NUMBERS WAS ESTABLISHED TO STUDY CYCLONE SEPARATORS SCALING. THIS METHOD WAS USED AS A REFERENCE TO ANALYZE THE VALIDITY OF STANDARD SCALING METHODS SUCH AS LAPPLE AND STAIRMAND PARAMETERS. THE RANGE OF EXPERIMENTAL CONDITIONS IN WHICH THESE PROCEDURES ARE APPLICABLE WAS ASSESSED. COLLECTION EFFICIENCY RESULTS OBTAINED BY THESE PROCEDURES ARE SHOWN TO HAVE UP TO 4 PER CENT DEVIATION FROM THE REFERENCE RESULTS, WHILE THE PRESSURE DROP RESULTS ARE SHOWN TO HAVE DEVIATIONS GREATER THAN 100 PER CENT.
