ABSTRACT. WE HAVE  MEASURED THE WEAR OF THE RAKE  FACE, OF  THE CLEARANCE FACE AND OF THE  CUTTING  EDGE  OF CUTTING TOOLS, WHICH   HAVE   BEEN  MANUFACTURED WITH  TUNGSTEN-CARBIDE TIPS, WITH A HIGH SPEED STEELM4,  WITH AN AISI-D6 STEEL AND WITH AN ABNT (AISI.01) STEEL , DURING THE  MACHINING OF  THE "EUCALIPTUS - GRANDIS" WOOD, WITH HIGH  MOISTURE  CONTENT. THE  WOOD   MACHINING  TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT WITH A SPECIAL DIVISE, IN ORDER TO HOLD  THE   TOOLS, SIMILAR TO A FACE MILLING CUTTER, TO WHICH TWELVE CUTTING KNIVES  WERE   FIXED, BEING THREE TOOLS OF EACH MATERIAL ALEATORY DISPOSED.THE TEST WAS CARRIED OUT IN A MOLDING MACHINE, ON WHICH WE SET UP A BUILT TOOL HOLDER AND ATTACHED A FEEDER  FOR THE WOOD TEST PIECE WITH STEPLESS  REGULATION SPEED.WE HAVE MEASURED THE WEAR WITH A PROFIL PROJECTOR WITH A 50X  ERLARGEMENT  AND WE  HAVE DRAWN ITS WEAR GRAPHS IN REGARD TO THE CUTTING LENGTH.WE INFERED THAT IT  IS  ENOUGH TO  MEASURE THE WEAR OF THE CUTTING  EDGES  OF  THE  TOOLS  AND / OR THE WEAR OF THE CLEARANCE FACE OF THE TOOLS.
