TO MANEUVER A SATELLITE THAT BELONGS TO A CONSTELLATION MEANS TO ALTER ITS ORBIT TO PLACE IT IN A CERTAIN POSITION IN RELATION TO THE OTHERS AND IT CAN BE MADE BY USING THE SAME TECHNIQUES OF THE RENDEZVOUS MANEUVERS (ENCOUNTER OF SPACE VEHICLES IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE INSTANT OF THE ARRIVAL OF THE TWO VEHICLES HAPPENS IN A SPECIFIED POINT IN SPACE AND THAT BOTH REACH THAT POINT IN THE SAME INSTANT OF TIME) WHERE THE TARGET VEHICLE (TO BE INTERCEPTED) IS SUBSTITUTED BY AN IMAGINARY POINT THAT REPRESENTS THE DESIRED POINT OF THE LOCATION OF THE SATELLITE. THESE TECHNIQUES ARE SHOWN HERE, TO STUDY THE ENCOUNTER OF VEHICLES THAT ARE INITIALLY IN CIRCULAR AND NON-COPLANAR ORBITS OF DIFFERENT RADIUS, TARGET THE RESTRICTION THAT THE WHITE VEHICLE IS IN A ORBIT HIGHER THAN THE ONE OF THE TARGET VEHICLE (TO BE TRANSFERRED). THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS TO COMPLETE THAT ENCOUNTER MANEUVER AMONG TWO VEHICLES. THREE METHODS WILL BE ANALYZED WHERE THE CHOICE OF THE METHOD TO BE APPLIED WILL DEPEND ON THE INVOLVED CIRCUMSTANCES: INTERNAL DIRECT METHOD, EXTERNAL DIRECT METHOD AND INDIRECT METHOD. AFTER THAT THEORETICAL REVISION THOSE METHODS ARE APPLIED IN MANEUVERS OF A REAL CONSTELLATION OF SATELLITES, GLOBALSTAR. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO EVALUATE THE CONSUMPTION OF THE DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES HERE SHOWN AND TO FIND THE MORE SUITABLE FOR EACH SITUATION. |
