SUMMARY:. THIS WORK INTRODUCES A STUDY CASE WHERE IT WAS ANALYSED THE REPOWERING OF MEDIUM LOAD SUGAR AND ALCOHOL PLANTS LOCATED IN THE SOUTHEAST AREA OF THE COUNTRY. FOR THIS PURPOSE, IT WAS TAKEN A STANDARD CHARACTERISTIC UNIT THAT PROCESSES TEN THOUSAND TONS OF SUGARCANE PER DAY. THROUGH SIMULATIONS USING A MATHEMATICAL MODEL DENOMINATED MODELO DE DESPACHO HIDROTÉRMICO, USED BY THE ELECTRIC SECTOR AS A HELP IN THE DECISION PROCESS FOR THE EXPANSION OF ENTERPRISES TO OFFER ELECTRICAL ENERGY, IT WAS POSSIBLE TO ARRIVE THE STANDARD DISPATCH EXPRESSED BY A MEDIUM CAPACITY FACTOR OF 89%, DEMONSTRATING, IN THIS WAY, THE SIGNIFICANT PARTICIPATION THAT THESE PLANTS CAN HAVE IN THE GENERATING SYSTEM WHERE THEY ARE INSERTED.
