Uma
nova abordagem foi desenvolvida, objetivando-se detectar falhas e
caracterizar o processo center-less. Para tanto, foi criado um software,
capaz de gerar um mapa digital da variação da profundidade de contato
instantâneo da peça com o rebolo de corte,
ao longo de cada volta do rebolo, através do sinal de emissão acústica
medida no processo. Pelo padrão do mapa é possível reconhecer falhas
ocorridas durante retificação, pois dependendo de como ocorre a variação
da profundidade instantânea de corte, o padrão gráfico apresenta aspectos
diferentes.

A
new approach was developed to detect fails and to characterize the
center-less grinding. Thus, a software was created, capable of generating a
digital map representing the variation of instantaneous depth of workpiece
contact with grinding wheel, during each turn of the wheel through the
measurement of the acoustic emission in the process. Throughout the pattern
of the map is possible to recognize fails that happened during grinding,
because depending on how happens, the variation of depth of cut, the graphic
pattern presents different aspects.
