Cabin Comfort and aircraft users wellbeing

André Gasparotti
EMBRAER

The needs and desires of aircraft users have been constantly evolving over the years, as well as aircraft technologies, requiring from aircraft manufacturers increasing creativity to offer solutions that solve these new demands. Today, when a passenger decides to make a flying trip, he carries with him not only a ticket and some bags, but also a range of expectations about how pleasant or unpleasant the trip will be, revealing the importance of the comfort aspect. It is understood that, among similar options, offering more comfort to the users always let to higher chances of being the favorite aircraft.

In this regard, Embraer has been investing in research to meet the demands of passengers through projects to further study and improve the capability to design, develop and offer integrated cabin solutions. The Cabin Comfort Project, a consortium between USP (Universidade de São Paulo), UFSCar (Universidade Federal de São Carlos) and UFSC (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina) is one of the initiatives and consists of simulation of cabin environment with passengers, analysis and modeling of human comfort perception to different environmental cabin parameters.
