The attached paper presents a heat exchanger project for ethanol vaporization to fuel a four cylinder Otto cycle engine. The necessary energy is recovered from escape gases. To calculate the heat exchanger, temperatures and mass flow of the escape gases are considered, mainly in the low charge range when the heat exchange is low too. For engine application, it`s necessary to reduce its size through of use of fins. The mathematic modeling results show that heat exchanger vaporizes completely ethanol fuel in the low charge range operation, and in the high charge range, the escape gases mass must be partially utilized.
