Abstract. Turbulent through flow between two finite parallel co-rotating disks is investigated numerically. For this finite geometry the solutions were developed to a steady, isothermal and constant properties fluid flow. The flow field is modeled by means of the averaged Navier Stokes equation and the mass conservation equation. The Reynolds stress are determined using the two layer turbulence model. The numerical solutions were obtained using the finite volume technique embodied on the PHOENICS software. A parametric study of the disk speed and through flow rate is conducted to analyze the influence of these variables on the mean flow as well as on the turbulent flow properties.
