This report intends to study and analyze, through the numeric simulation, the influence of the geometric parameters of vortex generators upon the efficiency of dynamic pressure recovery and the drag of NACA air inlet, for aeronautical utilization. Initially, a NACA was in theory designed for a certain critical condition of design. The flow on that geometry was numerically analyzed, and the results were used as a reference to the project. Hereinafter, several geometric models of vortex generators were coupled to the NACA, simulated and analyzed, and the results of efficiency and drag were compared with the reference NACA. The results obtained point out that, for the studied case, the NACA performance is predominantly sensitive to the area of the vortex generators. It was not possible to identify the beneficial effects due to the vortex generation. New configurations with improved geometries for vortex generation shall be studied. Keywords. Air Inlet, Vortex Generator, CFD.
